Economically optimal farmer supervision of crop robots

چکیده

One of the key issues in regulation crop robots is need for human supervision. Economic analysis indicates that autonomous farming potentially reduces agricultural production costs, but such costs may often become higher than conventional when constant on-site supervision required by law. However, there are cases where a level robot helps maximise profits even if it not mandated law, as field operations or inherently require frequent intervention. The objective this study to identify economically optimal levels farmer absence through HFH-LP optimisation model developed at Harper Adams University, Newport (UK). Four scenarios characterised different intervention requirements and compared with two baseline thresholds which farm management decisions would change from remote findings show falls within range substantially lower 100% jurisdictions EU California. More specifically, between 13% 85% machine time across depending on: (i) number interventions given operation; (ii) supervisor's location; (iii) being used operation. economic effects these three factors reveal crucial implications health safety regulators draw attention reliability priority researchers, entrepreneurs, manufacturers.

Farmer Selection and Conservation of Crop Varieties

After domestication, plant species were often transported widely, and many genetically distinct farmers’ varieties (FVs, crop varieties traditionally maintained and grown by farmers) developed in specific locations. FVs continue to be grown today by many small-scale farmers in traditionally-based agricultural systems (TBAS), fulfilling both local or regional consumption needs, as well as the la...

Economically optimal timing for crop disease control under uncertainty: an options approach

Severe large-scale disease and pest infestations in agricultural regions can cause significant economic damage. Understanding if and when disease control measures should be taken in the presence of risk and uncertainty is a key issue. We develop a framework to examine the economically optimal timing of treatment. The decision to treat should only be undertaken when the benefits exceed the costs...

Optimal Load of Flexible Joint Mobile Robots Stability Approach

Optimal load of mobile robots, while carrying a load with predefined motion precision is an important consideration regarding their applications. In this paper a general formulation for finding maximum load carrying capacity of flexible joint mobile manipulators is presented. Meanwhile, overturning stability of the system and precision of the motion on the given end-effector trajectory are take...
